For our farewell dinner, our good friends took us to Timbre Kitchen. It was without doubt the best meal we have had in 6 years of living in Tasmania. The 9 course degustation menu was sublime and beyond world class! We are vegetarians and every course was a taste sensation. Our friends are meat eaters and we all had the same meal, ours was simply with veggie substitutes. This was a unique experience for us! The flavours were incredible and so were the mocktails. I applaud Timbre on their inclusive menu that allowed us to have such an amazing culinary experience. Our waiter was young and enthusiastic and very engaging. We are only sad that we never stopped in prior to this as we assumed a winery wouldnโt cater to non drinking vegetarians! That was a huge mistake on our part. This is a must visit restaurant and one I canโt recommend highly enough!
Iโm not usually one for fancy dining, but we decided to treat ourselves on New Yearโs Day and by golly, we did. Without any exaggeration, this was some of the best food Iโve ever had. I came with seven mates from Melbourne, so we ordered a bit of everything and shared. The mains we had (lamb and chicken) were unreal, and every single side right down to the bread and the chips, it was all outstanding. Our waiter James was fantastic and gave me a great wine recommendation, and the rest of the staff were just as elite โ sorry I didnโt catch your names, but you all deserve credit. Iโd highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Launceston. Thank you for an amazing experience and such a great start to 2026.
Timbre is an absolute superb restaurant everyone should visit. If I could eat only on thing for the rest of my life it might just be the flatbread and butter at Timbre. It might be a short life with that amount of cholesterol, but it would be a happy one. I also had the wood fired chicken with salsa verde. Chicken is so often overcooked and left dry and tasteless but this was superbly done, the skin crisp and the meat tender. I also had an excellent potato salad. My only quibble was that the service, whilst very friendly and welcoming, was occasionally inattentive - I was forgotten about twice and at the end of my meal with my affogate having sat on my table for 15 minutes I had to get up and go in search of my bill. However that did little to spoil my enjoyment - the excellent view and the superb wine from the sister shop complemented the meal excellently. A place I will recommend to anyone that will listen.

A Big Thank you to Matt Adamโs and his Staff for their great hospitality and service provided, as we experienced fine dining and cuisine in a banquet lunch for Two. We were blown away with the colours, textures, mix, tastes, wines, atmosphere and service and cannot recommend Timbre Kitchen more highly. Love what You are creating. A total five star dining experience.
